**The Division**
The Customer Strategy and Technology team within Transport leads the development of long-term, multi-modal strategies, plans and policies across NSW. We leverage data and insights, implement new technologies, drive innovation and build partnerships to provide customer-centred solutions.

The Aboriginal Engagement team are experts in providing cultural leadership to connect people and build relationships between Aboriginal* stakeholders, communities and Transport to deliver on our strategic objectives for transforming First Nations people's aspirations and priorities into reality.
Our team collaborates, inspires and empowers the people of Transport to develop innovative strategies, plans and services that deliver meaningful engagement activity and outcomes to Aboriginal customers and that improves access to services, programs and grows NSW's First Economy.

**The opportunity**
We have an exciting opportunity for an Aboriginal Participation Officer to join the Aboriginal Engagement team within the Customer Strategy and Experience Branch.
The role oversees and supports the delivery of Aboriginal Participation requirements across nominated construction projects. This will include, but not be limited to, improving engagement and outcomes for Aboriginal businesses and Aboriginal people, data collection and analysis,
ensuring accuracy and completeness of regular reporting, the review, implementation, monitoring and auditing of Aboriginal Participation Plans, business performance improvements and proactive story telling.
**What you will be involved in**
Managing the analysis and consolidation of regular and ad hoc reports on key performance indicators and other critical success factors for Aboriginal Participation delivery and benchmark the performance against approved plans to improve delivery and outcomes.
Supporting program/project delivery and monitor and evaluate all aspects of Aboriginal participation implementation, including risk and contingency management, project impact and quality measures to identify and address issues, assess project progress and effectiveness to achieve project outcomes.
Providing early warning advice on emerging issues and recommend intervention and planning to support delivery in line with established plans, budgets, timeframes, policy objectives and other projects and priorities to support the team's service delivery.
Ensuring effective and efficient provision of communication, briefings and stakeholder coordination service delivery by coordinating the projects performance reporting framework, including development tools and reporting mechanisms and co-ordination of regular reporting.
Minimising risk in business processes by developing strategies to benchmark current and future activities and coordinate the implementation of outcomes in partnership with the Project and Aboriginal Engagement leadership team.
**About you**
You are an Australian Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person.
You have demonstrated experience in Aboriginal community engagement and the ability to be an advocate for Aboriginal interests.
You possess strong verbal and written communication skills with an ability to both influence and negotiate with others in order to achieve cooperation with stakeholders in both the business sector and local communities.
You will provide a range of project management and support services, including preparation of reports and briefs, undertaking research and analysis and identifying trends in order to support informed decision-making and planning.
