Your Responsibilities
As the Cultural Lead, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our services are culturally respectful, inclusive, and community-informed.
You will:
- Build trusted relationships with Elders, Aboriginal organisations, schools, and health services
- Organise community events, info sessions, and support Aboriginal participants to understand the NDIS
- Provide cultural mentoring to staff and management to support safe, inclusive service delivery
- Represent 668 Care in stakeholder meetings with hospitals, PHNs, LACs, and service networks
- Contribute to program design, communication materials, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Deliver cultural safety training and support team learning
About You
Identified Role – Open only to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander applicants under Section 50(d) of the Equal Opportunity Act.
You are a community leader with deep ties to your region and a strong sense of responsibility to help improve access, equity, and outcomes for Aboriginal people.
You bring:
- Strong connections in Tamworth, Taree, Muswellbrook, Singleton, or surrounding towns
- Community networks with local ACCHOs, schools, health services, councils, or youth organisations
- Experience in community engagement, health, disability, or support services
- The ability to speak confidently and work collaboratively across all sectors
- A valid Driver’s Licence and willingness to travel across the region
Checks Required (or willingness to obtain):
- National Police Check
- NSW Working With Children Check (WWCC)
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
