Position Summary
The Sourcing and Procurement Manager will be responsible for overseeing the sourcing, procurement, and vendor management of finished goods. This role ensures that all products meet R.M.Williams’ standards for quality, cost, and on-time delivery. This role will lead cost optimisation initiatives, maintain strong vendor relationships, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the company’s strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the sourcing and procurement of finished goods to ensure alignment with R.M.Williams' quality, cost, and delivery standards, as well as broader strategic goals.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers, negotiating pricing, terms,
and delivery schedules to optimise value.
- Manage and develop the Vendor Management team, providing clear direction, performance feedback, and support for professional growth.
- Monitor vendor performance using key metrics (quality, delivery, cost, compliance), and ensure all suppliers meet technical specifications, sustainability standards, and ethical sourcing requirements.
- Coordinate pre-production approvals, production timelines, and capacity planning, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of finished goods.
- Identify and implement cost optimisation initiatives and process improvements to increase procurement efficiency and effectiveness.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to align vendor capabilities with product needs, seasonal demands, and business priorities.
- Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety, ethical sourcing guidelines, and internal company policies and procedures.
Role To be successful in this role you will have:
- A degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field; post-grad qualifications or certifications (e.g. CSCP, CPSM)
are desirable.
- Proven experience procurement roles within manufacturing, with a focus on finished goods and supplier performance.
- Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective vendor relationships.
- Sound knowledge of procurement principles, contract management, and supply chain practices.
- Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to manage, develop, and motivate direct reports.
- Proficiency in procurement systems (e.g. SAP, Infor) and strong analytical skills to support data-driven decisions.
- Excellent communication, organisational skills, and attention to detail.
- The ability to work well under pressure and collaborate effectively across teams and external partners.
- Ability to travel when required
