Your new role
Reporting to the Senior Manager Accountability & Governance, Membership and Brand, and working closely with leaders within the Membership and Brand and Enterprise Risk Divisions, the Risk Enablement Specialist is a key member of AustralianSuper's 1st line risk team in Membership & Brand and the broader risk community across the Fund. The Risk Manager will lead the delivery of risk management in accordance with the Fund risk management framework and provide oversight and advice to stakeholders on technical risk and control matters. You are a natural influencer who has exceptional problem-solving skills, able to draw conclusions and recommend and design appropriate outcomes and controls that ensure our stakeholders can be bold in their pursuit of growth opportunities.
Other key elements to this position include:
Motivate and inspire our people by demonstrating commitment to the Fund's values, decision pillars and leadership principles.
Assist in ensuring that appropriate education and training is designed and implemented for Membership & Brand colleagues.
Implement strong risk controls on processes, policies, and systems to ensure breaches are limited; actively build and promote a group-wide culture of risk management awareness and appreciation.
Assist in the development and implementation of the Membership & Brand Governance Framework
Assist in the provision of reporting requirements for various functions including e.g. for Leadership, Executive team and Board Committees on relevant short and long-term trends, performance and specific projects, risks, opportunities, and challenges.
Develop and nurture strong relationships within Membership & Brandand other Groups providing general advice and with Line 1, Line 2 and Line 3 areas across the Fund.
Work proactively to ensure third party suppliers and service providers are managed in accordance with the Fund's Supplier Relationship Management Framework, with a particular focus on risk and assurance aspects.
What you'll need
5+ years' experience in risk management, ideally working in Financial Services including marketing with Financial Services.
Strong knowledge of risk and compliance frameworks
Critical thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Poise and ability to act calmly and competently in high-pressure, high-stress situations
High level of personal integrity as well as the ability to professionally handle confidential matters
Ability to develop and maintain high quality interpersonal relationships with stakeholders at all levels, both within and outside the Fund
Experience in developing relationships with key stakeholders from a variety of levels
Tertiary qualification in financial services, superannuation and risk management
RG 146 competency with ongoing CPD is preferred
