Position Responsibilities -
The position is responsible for providing leadership and direction to the unit to complement the strategic direction, operational processes, budget and business direction of the hospital.
You will provide operational direction for the unit to ensure efficient and effective management of the area and coordinate the delivery of nursing care that is evidence based. In addition you will be accountable for the effective management of human, financial and material resources and ensure customer service is maintained at optimal levels.
As the Nurse Unit Manager you will undertake direct patient care as required providing guidance and support to less experienced members of the nursing team.
At Nepean Private Hospital our patients come first. For over twenty years our 109 patient-bed hospital has been providing high quality healthcare to the broader communities of Penrith. Our hospital provides a full range of surgical and medical services including orthopaedics, urology, ear, nose and throat, paediatrics, gastroenterology and endoscopy, general, bariatric, gynaecology, plastic and reconstructive surgeries as well as neurosurgery and dental. Nepean Private Hospital has eight operating theatres, one hybrid/cardiac catheterisation lab to complement our growing Cardiology service and Critical Care Unit and one endoscopy suite. Our hospital has established an excellent reputation in the community and is dedicated to anticipating and exceeding patients' needs.
Current Registration with AHPRA
Previous experience at NUM level or equivalent
Previous experience in an Anaesthetic / Recovery Unit
Degree in relevant specialty area
Compliance with ACQSHC National standards
Demonstrated ability to review, implement and evaluate quality improvement programs
Strong communication, negotiation, conflict resolution and interpersonal skills
Advanced problem solving and decision making abilities to ensure excellence in patient centred care and customer service
High degree of computer literacy including MS office and various data bases
Ability to work cohesively within a team environment
Proven time management and prioritisation skills
A management degree or working towards
If you are successful in the role, you will receive a salary based on your years of relevant registered nursing experience against the current HSP & NSWNA/ANF Nurses 2015-2019 Enterprise Agreement.
