The Opportunity

An exciting full-time opportunity has become available in the AMA Projects' Braddon office for a Construction Cadet to join our expanding team. This role would be perfect for a student who has recently completed, or is nearing completion of their degree, or anybody from a Trades Background looking to transition to either Project Management or Site Management. You will report to the Construction Manager who will help you every step of the way towards building your career.

Roles & Responsibilities


Assist the Estimating Team in the evaluation of bid specifications and drawings and ensuring that all components of the project scope are covered in the tender submission with the overall goal of ensuring competitive tender submissions are submitted.

Site Supervisor

Assist the Site Manager in ensuring all aspects of the successful day-to-day running of AMA Projects' sites. This includes ensuring contractors are adhering to AMA Projects requirements as well as compliance to quality, safety and environment requirements.

Project Administration

Assisting the Project Managers and Contracts Administrators with end-to-end project coordination from initial tendering and procurement to the close out of defects and issue of manuals and as-built documentation.

About You

To be considered for this role, you will need to display the following:


- A genuine passion for the building and construction industry.

- Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- A high level of organisational and time management skills.

- A strong work ethic and the ability to work well autonomously by yourself or within a team.

- An eye for detail.


- Studying or recently completed a relevant degree or trade certificate (e.g. Construction Management, Building etc.).

- A White Card, Asbestos Awareness and First Aid certificate are advantageous.

- An understanding of Adobe InDesign.

- Some previous exposure to the industry.

- Ability to review and understand Tender Documentation (RFT’s, drawings, schedules, specifications)

- Understanding of Microsoft Project
