Early Childhood Australia NT Branch

About us

An exciting opportunity exists to join Early Childhood Australia as our new NDIS Administration Officer. As the NDIS ECA Partner in the Community, we deliver the Early Childhood Approach within the Darwin Urban Service area, including Palmerston and Litchfield, assisting families by focussing on a family-centred and strengths-based approach to early childhood intervention.

Early Childhood Australia has been operating since 1937 and is the national peak advocacy body for early childhood in Australia.

Our vision is ‘every young child thriving and learning’ and our work builds the capacity of our society and the early childhood sector to realise the potential of every child during the critical early years from birth to the age of eight.

Early Childhood Australia specifically acknowledges the rights of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and their families, and the past and current injustices and realities for them around Australia.

This is a full-time, fixed term role until 30 June 2023.

About the role

The NDIS Administration Officer role is our front of house, first point of contact for families. You will provide the initial triage for NDIS referrals and ensure all NDIS contractual conditions and timeframes are met. In addition to your NDIS administration support, you will also provide general administration assistance such as coordinating events and completing any office-based duties as directed by the Administration Manager.

About you

To be successful in this position, you will be friendly and approachable, with a keen interest in early childhood as you will be required to assist at times with on-site facilitation of programs including caring for children and communicating with families. You will have a ‘can do’ attitude and be willing to help out and support the team when required. You have experience with multiple software packages and databases with the flexibility and curiosity to learn even more and to pass on that knowledge (there will be times when you have to patiently guide others who are stuck with systems!). Empowering other employees with knowledge of systems and administration processes is a core part of the NDIS Administration Officer role.

You will have demonstrated administration experience, with a high level of organisational skills through planning daily and weekly administrative activities and have a professional approach to work with high attention to detail and accuracy.

You will seek out professional development opportunities and have a passion to never stop learning.

Prior experience within the NDIS is highly regarded.

The must have’s

- Full vaccination against COVID-19

- Current drivers licence

- Ochre card or ability to obtain

A National Police Check will be conducted prior to commencement and a current Ochre card must be held for the entire duration of employment with Early Childhood Australia.

If the NDIS Administration Officer role sounds like your perfect next step, please apply through Seek with your resume and a maximum one page cover letter explaining your suitability for the position.

Normal work hours will be Monday-Friday, worked flexibly between 7:30am and 5:30pm. You may also be required to attend events outside normal working hours. Although this role is based at the Berrimah office, you may also be required at times to work at our Coolalinga office.

The annual salary for this position is at Level 2 of the ECA Enterprise Agreement - $64,705 plus superannuation and salary packaging is available.
