About the position:

The Educational Leader / 2IC works closely with the Nominated Supervisor to manage the day-to-day operations of the before/after school care and vacation care service.

The Educational Leader collaborates with the Nominated Supervisor to ensure compliance with regulations and law, as well as continuous quality improvement against National Quality Standards and My Time Our Place, as required by all OSHC services. This role will act as the Responsible Person in the absence of the Nominated Supervisor.


Milperra – Before School Care, 7am – 9am (20) & After School Care, 2.30pm – 6pm (35). Admin 10hrs fortnight. Total 65 fortnight

Penshurst West – After School Care, 3pm – 6pm (30). Admin 10hrs fortnight. Total 40hrs fortnight.

Responsibilities of the role include:

- Lead the development, planning and implementation of quality programs for children

- Contribute to the evaluation and improvement of programs

- Foster a rich play environment consistent with the My Time, Our Place Framework for School Age Care

- Assist the Nominated Supervisor in the day-to-day management of service operations.

- Lead the team in ensuring the implementation of and compliance with the National Quality Framework (NQF) including the Children (Education and Care Services) National Law and Regulations

Essential Requirements for the positions are:

- Diploma or Certificate IV Children’s Services, OSHC, Recreation; or Degree or Diploma Primary Teaching

- Experience working in a 2IC or Leadership role within a school, aged care and/or education centre

- Experience in the planning, delivery and evaluation of programs for children aged 5 to 12 years within a care or education setting

- First Aid, Asthma, Anaphylaxis management certification

- Ability to Identify & Respond to Children & Young People at Risk of Harm

The successful candidates will require National Police Clearance prior to appointment (completed by 3Bridges), Valid NSW working with Children Check clearance, Current NSW drivers’ licence, and proof of COVID-19 Vaccination.

- Strong communication skills.

- Demonstrated skills in the supervision and positive behaviour management of school aged children

- Critical thinking skills, including the ability to analyse and challenge conventional practice and ideas

- Compassionate, inclusive and understanding outlook towards vulnerable members of our community

- Outcome focused with strong time management skills and ability to work on multiple concurrent tasks and judge priorities appropriately.
