About us

The Magistrates' Court of Victoria (MCV) is a jurisdiction within the Court Services Victoria statutory authority and has a long history of providing justice for the people of Victoria in metropolitan and regional courts across the state.

The Court determines in excess of 300,000 cases per annum at 51 venues, equating to approximately 90 per cent of all cases that come before Victorian courts each year. The Court aims to be an innovative, accessible and responsive court that provides quality services to the Victorian community.

About the role

The Senior Advisor Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) and Employee Wellbeing assists Magistrates' Court of Victoria (MCV)

managers and supervisors to effectively administer occupational health, safety, welfare and injury management as an integral part of their operational practices.

As the key advisor working within MCV, you will play an important part in implementing occupational health and safety procedures, strategies and initiatives to improve OHS performance and reduce WorkCover claims.

The role is also responsible in ensuring MCV's systems are aligned with AUS/NZ 4801 Safety Standard systems and compliance against the standards monitored, reviewed and improved via a comprehensive auditing regime.

About you

You have:

- Demonstrated understanding of, and expertise in, matters pertaining to employee wellbeing and work health, preferably within the Victorian Public Sector. Specific expertise in developing and implementing employee wellbeing programs, strategies, plans and initiatives.

- Demonstrated comprehensive knowledge, understanding and experience in the application of OHS legislation, regulations, compliance codes and codes of practice.

- Demonstrated knowledge of workplace injury rehabilitation and compensation legislation and compliance codes.

- Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary policy and process review and implementation.
