This role is the key finance business partner to a number of members of the Consumer Commercial Operations Division, primarily supporting the GM of Products and Pricing, The CMO,

the General Manager of Customer Lifecycle Management, the GM of commercial strategy and indirectly the GM of Sales and Distribution, along with their teams, to guide and influence outcomes across the postpaid mobile P&L; by understanding and driving financial performance. It is responsible for business casing & decision support, performance reporting, budgeting & forecasting, insight generation and the assessment and commercial approval of tactical market activities, managing a team of, currently, three direct reports to achieve these goals.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks

- Provide a vision for the postpaid FBP team, determining the key strategic initiatives that need to be undertaken by the team to best support stakeholders and optimize business profitability

- Lead, motivate and develop the members of the Postpaid FBP team, including defining key partnering relationships, strategic goals and roles & responsibilities for each team member and coaching & supporting them in the achievement of these goals

- Lead the development of the annual postpaid budget, working closely with stakeholders within the consumer business unit and finance.

- Track business performance against the budget, including the preparation of a monthly rolling forecast, supporting the Postpaid and Finance leadership teams in an understanding of weekly and monthly performance results, key performance risks, and actions that could be taken to address them.

- Using visualisation tools such as Qlik, develop KPI dashboards, metrics and capability for measuring detailed prepaid business performance, supported by insightful commentary and analysis. Engage with key BI teams to ensure data availability and quality and to operationalize key reports.

- Deriving profitability metrics to push improvements in all areas of postpaid activity, including sales quality, device, product & channel profitability, customer lifetime value, and careful management of all cost structures.

- Proactively develop and share insights aimed at enhancing our understanding of postpaid, fixed line, consumer and enterprise customers and the postpaid business

- Support the General Managers and their team to make the best possible commercial decisions. Prepare, review and present financial models, business cases and post implementation reviews in relation to new products, channel commissions, tactical market activities, CLM campaigns and other key areas of prepaid activity.

- Provide input into business decisions supported by relevant financial and non-financial data, challenging assumptions and the status quo in order to drive improved business results. Ensure decision making governance processes are followed. 

What We Need

- Proven team leadership, coaching and development capability; able to motivate the team to deliver high quality, accurate outputs often to tight timelines.

- Excellent stakeholder management capability, able to influence and steer actions and decision making at Exec level. Can negotiate and resolve competing priorities.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, can succinctly summarise results and provide commentary for review at Exec and Board level.

- Commercial acumen to assess situations for risks and opportunities and providing alternative options as required.

- Experience in process improvement and process excellence.

- 7+ years finance experience.

- CPA/CIMA/CA or equivalent.

- Aptitude and drive for seeking continuous process improvement and innovation.
