An opportunity has arisen for a Community Engagement and Communications Officer to work within a busy office for an independent regulator that works very closely with various Disability Services Organisation. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone to provide detailed technical, professional, policy, operational support, and advice in relation to complex problems. The position will require you to coordinate and assist in the various strategic planning, program and project management and policy development that support the company objectives. This role is to start ASAP for 12 months, working 37.5 hours per week, Monday through to Friday. The role will currently require you to Work from Home, but in the future,
there will be a requirement to work from the organisations Melbourne CBD Office. The hourly rate for the role is $51.50 + super per hour.
Some of your other duties will include but are not limited to:
Working across the organisation and with other business areas to support a strategic and proactive events strategy and associated logistics, driving nationally consistent, locally tailored event solutions to support increased awareness and understanding of the Disability community.
Building strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to facilitate the organisations participation in a diverse range of small- and large-scale events, including information sessions, forums, conferences, and webinars.
Producing content for a variety of channels including the organisations website, Ministerial and Executive Briefings, event materials, social media, and other communication platforms.
Providing logistical management and advice to deliver proactive and nationally consistent engagement activities, including the provision of logistical support at external forums and events.
Contributing to the implementation and operationalisation of a targeted, proactive engagement strategy, including a forward planned events calendar, aligned to the corporate plan
Working with the leadership team to promote and implement best practice event management processes including identification and provision of all event accessibility measures necessary, and supporting the triaging of events, third party event requests and delivery of events.
Coordinating critical data analysis and feedback to measure effectiveness of activities and strategies, including identifying associated risks and trends.
Undertaking document management of event documentation to support team and senior leadership visibility on event planning status, risk management and data collection.
The successful candidate will have had previous experience working in a similar, who has had exposure implementing and managing corporate events and working on a variety of policies including community engagement. If you have worked within the Disability or Human Services Industry this would be an advantage but not a necessity. You will have a positive empathetic attitude and be able to build effective relationships and can adapt quickly to a changing working environments and conflicting demands. You will work closely with internal stakeholders, local area coordinators, participants and their carers therefore excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required.
