APS6 Events Coordination role
Your new company
You will be working as part of a small event coordination team within a highly sought after Federal Government Department located in central Canberra and will be overseeing the planning, coordination, project management and promotion of high profile events both locally and interstate.
Your new role
This team are after an APS6 Events and Project Manager to assist with organising high-profile events in various locations across the country, with the following skills:
- Event and/or project management skills - organised and proactive,
able to manage multiple events/projects within strict timeframes.
- Stakeholder management skills - able to liaise and negotiate with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Procurement skills - experience in procuring and managing contracts (preferably in event management).
- Financial management skills - able to manage budgets (individual projects and overall budgets), including processing invoices and experience with financial systems.
- High level of communication skills - both written, over the phone and in-person.
- Ability to manage staff and support team members when necessary, in a busy environment.
What you'll need to succeed
The client's ideal candidate will be a creative, organised and self-motivated individual who holds a qualification in communications, events management, marketing or equivalent; has experience in events management including online booking systems; is proficient is MS Office 365 suite; has excellent organisational skills and is comfortable with working with competing priorities often with short deadlines.
Please note that this role will require you at times to work long days or outside normal business hours to deliver the event program, noting the varying time-zones across Australia and there will be travel involved.
As this position is within the APS, candidates will be required to be Australian Citizens and will ideally hold a security clearance at the Baseline level or higher.
