Mater Private Hospital Mackay has been providing excellence in clinical and pastoral care to the people of Mackay and surrounds since 1927. About the role

Mater Private Hospital Mackay are seeking an experienced clinician who is passionate about safety improvement and high quality care to join their team on a full-time basis as a Hospital/Service Quality and Safety Manager.

As the Hospital/Service Quality and Safety Manager you will be responsible for activities relating to Quality and Clinical Safety Management, and accreditation, across the Mater Private Hospital Mackay, which are essential to the licensing, service level agreements and contracts. The position will be embedded within the services it works with, responsible for all aspects of clinical quality and safety for that service. This may also include portfolio’s of interest to drive change across Mater Health, e.g. clinical care standards etc.

With a focus on quality systems, consumer experience and managing clinical risk/safety this role will work collaboratively with staff and managers/clinicians to ensure quality governance systems are in place, clinical risk frameworks are functioning effectively, and there is a continuous improvement cycle in the delivery of high-quality healthcare

Currently attracting a salary range of $117,000 - $132,000 (inclusive of superannuation). The appropriate salary will be dependent on the period of applicable prior experience.

About you

In order to be successful in this position, you will have:

- Relevant qualification and/or substantial work experience (up to 5 years) in managing organisational clinical governance/quality systems;

- Experience in the healthcare sector;

- Postgraduate qualifications in related field (desirable);

- Demonstrated experience in leading, implementing and maintaining a quality management system and executing quality improvement measures;

- Demonstrated experience in evaluating workplace practices against accreditation standards, quality systems and organisational policies and procedures;

- Demonstrated experience in risk and change management; and

- Australian Citizenship or Australian Permanent Residency to apply.
