What You Will Be Doing

•Provide strategic clinical leadership to ensure the provision of comprehensive Mental Health Services

•Ensure the area is managed efficiently and effectively to achieve Peninsula Health's goals,

including the professional management of specialist staff members and collaboration with other units

•Manage budgetary requirements for medical staff and work collaboratively with the Operations Director to ensure budgetary control for the wider mental health service

•Management of quality and clinical governance matters

•Development and maintenance of appropriate clinical policies

•Be accountable for the overall management of trainees within the service, including registrars and HMO's (in conjunction with the Manager - Medical Workforce Unit)

•Provide high quality evidence based clinical care within the designated scope of practice

•Promote a culture of continuous improvement by monitoring services and practice

•Be aware of and work in accordance with organisational policies and procedures

•Ensure optimised mental health patient flow

What You Need

We anticipate you will have:

•Medical Practitioner Registered in Australia.

•Fellowship of the Royal Australian & New Zealand College of Psychiatrists or equivalent.

•Demonstrated working knowledge of the Victorian Mental Health Act 2014, including the mental health principles; the protection of rights (including working with Nominated Persons and Advance. Statements); the compulsory treatment framework; capacity and informed consent; restrictive interventions; the Mental Health Tribunal.

•Demonstrated ability to direct and motivate others
