Anaesthesia and Perioperative Services at Monash Health

Our Anaesthesia and Perioperative Services team provides services to an extensive range of planned and acute patients, pre-anaesthetic clinics, endoscopy, radiology (including MRI and interventional procedures), cardiology catheterisation lab, acute and chronic pain patients and provides specialist care to our mental health clients.

We are growing an innovative health service where expert clinical and operational leaders can engage teams to redesign anaesthetic services. Our Directors will ensure provision of excellent patient care, provide the best patient experience and build contemporary and evidence based clinical services at each our sites and across the health service. We are pleased to announce the following opportunities:

- Director Anaesthesia – Casey Hospital

- Director Anaesthesia – Dandenong Hospital, including Cranbourne Integrated Care Centre

- Director Anaesthesia – Monash Children’s Hospital, Clayton

- Director Anaesthesia – Monash Medical Centre, Clayton

- Director Anaesthesia – Moorabbin Hospital

- Director Anaesthesia – Perioperative Medicine, Monash Health

All roles will be appointed on a permanent, full time basis and each hospital based role will be allocated a clinical portfolio. In addition, the successful applicants will participate in our on-call roster.

About the Roles

Each role reports to the Service Director Anaesthesia and Perioperative Services and will be responsible for the clinical and operational performance of the Anaesthetic team at the site.

These are critical leadership roles, requiring highly skilled and innovative clinical leaders who also possess outstanding people and business management capabilities. Performance will be assessed with reference to several key result areas, including:

- Clinical leadership through active involvement in patient care;

- Support for and involvement in research, academic education, training and supervision; and

- Contribution to ongoing service improvement and clinical and workforce innovation. 

About You

Details of the clinical expertise, technical skills, knowledge and experience and health advocacy requirements we’re seeking are outlined in the Position Descriptions.

In addition, you can demonstrate a track record of effective people leadership and change management skills and a highly consultative, collaborative working style. At a personal level you are highly ethical and uncompromising in your commitment to delivering excellent patient care. Leading by example, you inspire your team to be the best they can be every day.
