Business Unit

Legal and Governance forms part of the Group functions within AMP. The L&G; team provides a comprehensive range of support services to all AMP business lines, through the AMP legal teams, Corporate Governance and Superannuation Trustee Office, and the management of outside legal counsel.

The Group Legal – Corporate & Governance team is responsible for management of all governance, transactional and commercial legal activities for the Group including: Company Secretariat, Corporate Advisory and Governance, Commercial legal, Insurance,

M&A; legal, Treasury legal and specialist legal (e.g employment and AMP Group projects).

Purpose of the Role

Reporting to the General Counsel - Corporate and Governance and Group Company Secretary, you will be working broadly across the Group Secretariat team to maintain a consistent team approach, to manage the overall workload of the team, including specific projects as required.

With your exceptional can do attitude you will be bringing a collaborative and continuous improvement focus to the role, both day-to-day and through assisting with team projects and initiatives by supporting annual reviews of the companies, existing system capabilities as well as coordination of period EY review of minutes.

With your collaborative and team focus style you will support the EBA’s in the team with the coordination of EBA meeting in partnership with the AMP Limited Board EA.

More specifically the role is responsible for but not limited to:

- Providing proactive, professional, accurate, timely and efficient corporate secretarial and administrative support to a small allocated group of boards and legal entities – including AMP Limited (listed on ASX and NZX) and AMP Bank Limited. 

- Providing support to the listed portfolio including: lodgement of announcements across various platforms and ongoing admin maintenance of these platformsassisting with preparation and management of the AGM & Annual Report as required including: Preparing and collating Director questionnairesSupporting the Corporate Counsel in coordination of voting exclusions and preregistrationManaging stakeholder meetings.

To be successful in this role you should have previous experience in an administrative role, preferably at a senior level and at an ASX Limited company as well as knowledge of ASX announcement platform. Working with boards and company secretariats will be well regarded.

As well as having an exceptional organisational and time management skills you also have the flexibility and resilience to manage within rapidly changing priorities and demands. You are an exceptional communicator and can build and maintain relationships at all level of the organisation.

Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and Adobe Acrobat is essential.

Exposure to an electronic board portal and Diligent Entities (or a similar electronic company secretarial database) as well as completion of the Governance Institute of Australia’s Certifications in Governance Practice or willingness to undertake is desirable.
