How will you make an impact?

The Inside Sales Team Leader is responsible for leading a team of sales representatives to sell scientific products and services via phone, email and other digital methods.

This office-based team is responsible for serving customers engaged in research, development, QA/QC, engineering, production and logistics across a range of industries, including academia, food and beverage, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, environmental and industrial.

The Inside Sales Team Leader will be responsible for the team achieving revenue and profitability targets by maintaining and developing new and growth accounts across these segments.

What will you do?

- Lead the Inside Sales team to develop and execute business and account plans to drive revenue growth.

- Coach team to develop tele sales skills to maintain business with existing accounts, grow incremental business in existing accounts, and penetrate new accounts.

- Instill disciplined use of CRM system for proper territory management, ensuring team achieves activity rate targets and maintains a pipeline of opportunities to meet or exceed sales objectives.

- Support team to establish and develop relationships with various stakeholders in accounts to cultivate customer loyalty and allegiance.

- Develop and maintain knowledge of products and services, industries, and competitive landscape to achieve revenue goals.

- Inspire, develop and manage overall performance of team members and partner with team members to cultivate learning and development objectives.

- Support the Sales Development and Inside Sales Manager to execute strategies to accelerate channel performance and capture market share.

- Perform business analysis and forecasting and report on trends and performance to provide actionable business insights, improve sales efficiency and capture greatest ROI.

- Utilise available resources and develop strong internal relationships with business functions (including finance, contracts, technical support, sales support, customer care, product management, and marketing) to support assigned customers.

- Promote and leverage marketing programs to support sales achievement and territory penetration.

- Actively participate in and promote collaboration forums to share market trend insights, competitor intelligence, and customer feedback.

- Lead and contribute to process improvement initiatives.

- Plan and participate in training and development programs as a means of continuous improvement.

- How will you get here?

- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in the sciences or business fields.

- Prior sales experience or supervisory responsibility, preferably in tele sales.

- Computer proficiency in MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint and the Internet along with use of Salesforce.com CRM software.

- Demonstrated willingness to foster development of professional selling skills.

- Will have the flexibility to travel 10-20% of their time to form relationships with key stakeholders. This will be determined on a case by case basis, depending on customers and geography.
