About the role

We currently have a vacancy available for an enthusiastic Health Safety and Training Administrative / Compliance Coordinator at our Lake Vermont project. Working a on a 5/2 roster you will report to the  Health, Safety and Training Manager in this diverse role and manage the seamless transition between administrative and specialised safety duties and work tasks.

Some of your key duties and responsibilities will include:

- Provide HST support to project staff, workforce and HS&T; department

- Assist with the delivery of project specific safety inductions and contractor and document compliance

- Ensure the HST team are compliant across SHE standards processes,

procedures and relevant legislation and quality assurance

- Monitor, analyse and report project performance in terms of achieving HST team objectives

- Assist the HS&T; team in the compilation and preparation of monthly reporting requirements including data management within the Thiess Safety Management System, Synergy (Enablon)

- Support the development of Thiess and project HST methodologies by advocating change, continuous improvement, and process consistency

- Conduct HST and SHMS administrative activities including inspections, reporting and audits

- Perform other duties as may be defined by the HS&T; Manager

The Lake Vermont Project is situated outside of Dysart, in Central Queensland. This project is one of Thiess’ largest and longest running projects. 

Roster and Conditions

- 5/2 Roster - Monday to Friday with monthly RDO’s

- Full Camp Facilities – accommodation and meals provided

- Permanent full-time position with 5 weeks of annual leave

About you

- Health and Safety Qualification – Cert III or above

- Previous experience in an HST Administrative and Safety Systems Compliance role within the Qld mining industry

- Demonstrated understanding of SHMS and principles

- High level of planning and organisational skills with excellent attention to detail

- Highly motivated and committed to meeting deadlines and delivering results

- High level of proficiency in MS Office (specifically strong excel skills);

- Experience using systems such as Synergy, JDE, Solv Health/Injury will be highly regarded
