The Company

KBR in Australia has been involved in working with Defence for the last 20 years, and has developed a core competency in systems engineering, systems and enterprise architecture, project management, training solutions and integrated logistic support and provides this expertise to support a wide range Defence projects and clients.

The Role

The Australian Industry Capability (AIC)

Program underpins the Government’s commitment to building an internationally competitive Australian Defence industrial base to deliver and sustain the Australian Capability edge. The key focus is to increase Australian Industry’s share of Defence work, leading to greater economic development, increased technology transfer, upskilling of the work force, and ultimately strengthen the Defence industrial base.

We are currently seeking a specialist to collect and assemble Australian Industry Capability (AIC) participation data metrics to develop into performance characteristics for our client. The data gathered will be the basis of subsequent artefacts required to communicate and influence a broad stakeholder group, including:

Identification of Internal Defence Stakeholders to be included in AIC Case Studies

Interviews with the Stakeholders to determine examples of success stories relating to AIC engagement Case studies should address a broad range of AIC opportunities across Acquisition and Sustainment – i.e. Increases to work force, creation of new export markets, promotion of Indigenous businesses, etc.)

Deliver an Enduring Supply Chain Solution by Leveraging off Defence’s Prime Companies

Focus on Australian Industry participation in Defence procurements at a national and local level Creation of international supply chain opportunities to leverage Defence’s investment in Australian Industry Australian Industry to seek access to Intellectual Property rights from foreign Prime Contractors Aim for increases to Industry’s work force skills and capacity, involvement of Small to Medium Enterprises and Indigenous business in the delivery strategy, as well as engagement of Australian Defence Force veterans

Deliver the Participation Data in Preparation for Release to Government and in the Public Domain

Initial identification and agreement of the qualitative and quantitative data to collect Determination of sensitivity, classification and authority required to release the data gathered

Skills Required

General familiarity with the Defence Enterprise – Essential Demonstrated experience in business improvement strategies – Highly desirable Business process understanding – Highly desirable
