Remuneration: $119,136 – 126,457 pa HEW Level 09 (plus up to 17% superannuation)

The Opportunity

We have exciting opportunities currently available within the Office of the General Counsel (OGC), for three Senior Lawyers with significant post-admission experience. Two continuing appointments in the areas of Research and Commercialisation, and Commercial and Property, as well as a 12 month fixed term appointment in the Commercial and Property legal stream.

The OGC is the University's in-house legal team providing comprehensive legal advice and services to management and staff on University related issues, whilst also coordinating access to external legal services.

In the role of a Senior Lawyer, you will be responsible for assisting the General Counsel to support the University in achieving its goals through the provision of timely and authoritative legal advice and services on a wide range of legal matters relevant to each stream.

You will be responsible for producing high-quality legal research, advice and documents appropriate to clients' needs, including reviewing, drafting, negotiating and settling a range of agreements and contracts. You will also provide leadership and guidance to colleagues within both the OGC and external to the OGC as appropriate.

Your Experience

To be successful in this role, you will be a qualified legal practitioner with significant post-admission experience in the area of commercial, property and/or research. You enjoy working in a complex environment managing a busy portfolio of work and adapting to a diverse range of matters and priorities on a daily basis. You have a proven ability to work autonomously and understand the importance of delivering exceptional customer service to key internal stakeholders and developing respectful and trusting relationships.
