We are working with a leading supplier of Electrical Power Systems to the Australian market and are currently seeking a Supply Chain / Logistics Lead with strong SAP experience to come on board for initially a 7 month contract with likely extension or possible transfer to permanent.
In this role you will use your SAP expertise to successfully plan and execute procurement activities for assigned projects on-time and within budget. You will be the primary interface with the Project Manager, project team and, as required, the customer on all Logistics matters whilst maintaining supply contracts with key suppliers and onboarding of new suppliers.
Your main responsibilities will include:
Participate in project sales and execution from start to finish for key logistic activities, resources and milestones. Manage planned logistic activities including schedule difficulties accordingly. Assure a valid Project Safety plan is in place to support project logistics Approval of logistics orders for internal and sometimes external suppliers of products and services included in assigned projects. Apply project procurement procedures and plan to ensure appropriate implementation and compliance. Proactively work to resolve issues related to procurement cost, quality and delivery. Understand risks identified during sales, or execution within assigned contracts and mitigate accordingly.
Knowledge & Skill required to be successful:
Strong and demonstrated experience in management of scope, cost, schedules and vendors/subcontractors. SAP user experience essential including MM and PS modules Can-do positive attitude where no task is too big. Be able to work in a busy and demanding environment with the ability to multi-task Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and high attention to detail. Proactive and highly organized. Influencing and Engaging skills to achieve notable outcomes. Previous experience in logistics in an engineering environment is desirable. Strong computer skills including SAP, Microsoft Office & MS Project, Outlook, Visio.
