Part of the Delaware North Australia portfolio, Northern Rise is a leading resources industry village - hospitality and food services provider. Established in we operate villages in remote Western Australia, the Northern Territory and Queensland. We are in an exciting period of growth and are looking for Head Chefs to lead the kitchen in our new sites in remote mining villages in Western Australia.

About the Role

Reporting to the Project Manager, the Head Chef works with the manager to meet client demands and exceed customer expectations. Your biggest asset is your motivation and innovation that has driven your kitchen teams to success.

We are looking for more than qualifications and ticking the right boxes. The Head Chef is a pivotal role that drives the success of the kitchen. We want to know how you can lead with ambition and lead by example. Aside from the day to day meals on site, you also plan theme nights, functions, and events.

- Ability to cook and prepare breakfast dishes, deserts, cold larder, salads, main wet and dry dishes, soups, grills, roasts, a la carte, and baked foods

- 6 days on, 3 days off roster

- 11 hour day shifts

- Being accountable to run the kitchen with service, safety, and sustainability at the forefront

- Delegation, including working with the Project Manager on rostering

- Maintaining and ordering stocks and supplies

- Upholding HACCP procedures and ensuring competence within the team

- Ability to communicate with clients, co-workers, customers, and suppliers

- Ensuring that operations are delivered within budget and looking for opportunities to improve cost whilst maintaining our high standards

- Responding to feedback from customers and clients

- Assisting the Project Manager with audits

- Leading by example, and supervising and mentoring the team to align with your vision

To ensure success in this role

There are things beyond qualifications that make you good at what you do. These prerequisites are just the start; we're not just looking for people that tick these boxes.

- Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent

- Food Safety Supervision Certificate

- National Police Clearance issued within the last 6 months (or willing to obtain one)

- Driver's licence

- Proof of Australian work rights

- Ability to pass a Pre-Employment Medical and Drug & Alcohol Screen

- Understanding of Food Safety Management and the HACCP methodology
