About The Role

As the Quality Improvement Manager, you will directly influence professional clinical practice through a quality improvement approach to issues of clinical and regulatory compliance performance in our care homes. Working under the direction of the Clinical Services Director, you will work closely with the Operations and Risk teams to drive the implementation of quality improvement programs to deliver best-practice clinical care and meet environmental and regulatory requirements of the aged care practice setting within a partnership model.


- Drive improvements in current processes in the delivery of quality clinical care and services to our residents and consumers through the establishment and maintenance of strong partnerships with key stakeholders

- Oversee end-to-end compliance remediation activities, and ensure that they support evidence-based clinical practice and processes that are consistent with the Aged Care Quality Standards

- Lead the implementation, functioning and ongoing evolution of Bupa’s compliance sustainability and excellence, inclusive of ACQSC requirements

- Escalate risks to standards compliance and service accreditation to the Director of Clinical Services

- Lead a team of Quality and Education Partners to role model and work in partnership to drive a culture of quality and clinical improvement across BVAC AU (the Organisation)

- Expertly advise and support operations teams to work to an agenda of quality improvement

- Direct the evaluation of audit reports and provide practical advice concerning issues arising from the reports, working in collaboration with the Compliance and Accreditation Manager, the Head of Clinical Governance & Development, and Operations.

- Guiding care homes with the understanding and implementation of Change Management programs in collaboration with the Clinical Services team, and Operations and Risk teams, as the subject matter experts

- Direct the delivery of current information on the homes of non-compliance, and homes in focus for the Clinical Services Director and be their delegate/conduit for the ACQ≻ as required

Skills and Experience

- Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent

- Post graduate qualifications in a health management related stream

- Current Registration with AHPRA (without conditions)

- Proven leadership capabilities to engage clinical resources across the business and wider group

- Extensive experience in the delivery of Aged Care Quality Standards, accreditation and professional nursing leadership

- Residential Aged Care experience within Australia at an operational level

- Creative lateral thinking and problem-solving abilities

- The capacity to manage uncertainty or ambiguity

- Experience in successful delivery of large and complex organisational change programmes

- Reputation for effective and timely delivery, and making things happen
