What is the focus of the role? As the Process Excellence CoE Lead you will be the custodian ofTelstra’s process architecture and assuring end-to-end alignmentand consistency as well as well as empowering the business with targeted training to accelerate adoption of best practices.You will lead the creation and curation of best-in-class improvement tools and platforms. You drive a continuous improvement mindset across Telstra and are known for your strategic leadership and problem-solving techniques. As the Process Excellence CoE Lead, you apply your broad experience and extensive expertise in process consulting, design and optimisation to deliver on the following responsibilities:
Telstra Frameworks and Standards • Establish and lead the Centre of Expertise (COE) to service the whole of Telstra including the development of company wide practices, language, improvement methodologies, frameworks and toolsets • Demonstrate Accountability for the consistent application single process architecture to be used across Telstra aligned to the key principles, standards and frameworks (including measurements for performance). • Promote quality and consistency of Process standards, ensuring the team adopts industry best practice tools and methodologies when addressing complex process related problems • Establish and lead governance of cross-Telstra process maturity and performance and critical process risk • Lead the company in the continuous improvement of process maturity and health, consolidating feedback and lessons learnt within the chapters, product/mission teams and Telstra business units. • Significantly contribute to continuous improvement and process excellence by constantly improving the standard ways of working to identify and optimise innovation opportunities Education and Upskilling • Provide training and education to establish and embed best practices in process architecture, tooling, and governance that can be used across the Company • Provide coaching for Telstra Process Owners to form and lead high-performing teams with the right skills, experiences and mindsets to deliver on strategic priorities Leadership and Sponsorship • Build, maintain and manage relationships with key stakeholders across the business and within industry. • Authentically collaborate with and influence multiple key stakeholders such as; executives, Process Owners and Program/initiative Sponsors to develop process strategies that meet business and customer requirements • Lead the development of great customer experience related to the use of process excellence tools and practices across Telstra. • Actively advocate, champion and inspire change aligned to the CoE’s vision, both cross company within the profession (within Telstra) and in the external market • Manage CoE resource allocation with the relevant Chapter Area / Chapter Leads, including recruitment and/or selection, to maintain a talent pipeline and ensure capability requirements are met with the best talent, and any resourcing issues are mitigated • Provide clarity on performance and behavioural goals and expectations to your CoE, to ensure that their contributions are aligned to CoE priorities • Apply strong commercial acumen in contributing to budget determination and ensure CoE priorities optimise value and are delivered within allocated budget targets. • Maintain a high level of capability in process methodologies and technologies, including new and emerging technologies, tools, systems and processes so that you can model continuous learning and actively provide coaching and mentoring of process team members • Act to champion the ways of working mindsets and practices for all teams in which you participate Skills Active Listening, Career coaching, Commercial Acumen, Communicating With Influence, Continuous Improvement Methodologies, Critical Thinking, Data Analysis, Executive Stakeholder Management, Human-Centered Design, Implementing Change, Innovation, Lean Methodology, Motivating Teams, Negotiation, Process Improvement, Process Innovation, Providing Feedback, Strategic Thinking, Team Building, Team Coaching, Team Performance Management, Thought Leadership
