The Division

The Regional and Outer Metropolitan (ROM) division is focused on understanding the particular needs of regional communities across NSW and delivering customer-centred integrated transport services and infrastructure.

About the Team

This role is in the Planning & Programs branch. The purpose of the branch is to interpret, analyse, plan, prioritise, enable and advocate for the right investments and interventions to achieve optimal customer outcomes.

The Opportunity

We have an opportunity for a Senior Manager – Integrated Network Programs to develop new programs of investment for transport corridors across New South Wales, improving roads, railway stations and other critical transport infrastructure to meet the future transport needs of the community.

In the Senior Manager role you will lead a team of Transport Planners to review and inform transport corridor investment strategies and identify, develop, and deliver new program plans focused on network improvements. This is a strategic leadership role with a core technical focus in transport network planning.

Key Accountabilities:

- Manage the development of a program approach to network improvements that focus on reducing congestion in regional centres, improving services, develop better connections across the multi-model transport network and improve outcomes for customers.

- Manage the development of evidence-based program proposals to support the delivery of outcomes that satisfy customer needs, compatibility with land use development and integration across transport modes to ensure that sustainability outcomes and compliance requirements can be met in the planning, design, construction and operation of the network.

- Proactively build and maintain relationships with stakeholders and representatives within the Transport Cluster, across State and Local government and in the private sector to facilitate collaborative planning outcomes within the region.

About You

You’ll be an experienced transport or urban planning leader, with a view to industry best practice for major transport networks. This is a leadership role and you will be an experienced manager able to grow and develop successful teams and build positive and supportive team cultures.

Experience in planning is essential, and ideally you will also possess expertise in transport networks and experience in delivering across multiple Government agencies involved in planning approval and statutory processes (or other relevant experience at scale).
