About us

The NSW Police Force (NSWPF) is one of the largest police forces in the western world, with more than 20,000 employees, including more than 4,000 administrative employees who support the sworn officers that provide a range of law and order services 24 hours a day, seven days a week to the socially, geographically and culturally diverse community of NSW.

There has never been a more exciting time to join the NSW Police Force as we deliver the largest operational transformation the NSW Police Force has ever undertaken. The legacy COPS System is being replaced by the very exciting, cloud-based Integrated Police Operating Systems (IPOS), which is a once in a generation core policing system upgrade, making it faster, simpler and safer for officers responding to emergencies and investigating crimes across NSW.

We currently have a rare opportunity for an experienced, technically minded Business Analyst to join the team and embark on a business transformation program which will help shape the future of policing. As part of your role, you will be working with the technical teams to define, develop and execute solution requirements; draft solution designs and achieve associated outcomes. For the right incumbent, this role could be a stepping stone into a Solution Architect position with time.

Our commitment to Diversity

The NSW Police Force is a proud employer of a diverse range of people. We are committed to reflecting the diverse community we serve and creating an inclusive and respectful workplace for all employees. Differences are embraced, contributions are valued, and everyone has a sense of connection and belonging.

We welcome people with diverse skills, experiences, perspectives and backgrounds and encourage applications from Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander peoples, and individuals who may identify as LGBTIQ, with disability, a culturally and linguistically diverse background, and people of all ages.

If you identify as a person with disability and require further information on the role or you require specific arrangements to participate in the recruitment process, please contact Justine Hogan on 0429 275 709 or by email at .

If you identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander and would like assistance with your application, please contact the NSWPF Aboriginal Employment & Engagement team at [email protected]

About the role

As part of the role you will have an opportunity to work with stakeholders to understand business needs; capture, analyse and document solution requirements; assist with solution design and support the delivery of business solutions that meet business needs. This unique role will provide the incumbent with an opportunity to bring connection between business units and systems, working with various teams to shape the future of policing.

Working with internal and external stakeholders, you will have the opportunity to identify, determine and analyse complex and diverse business and solution requirements, which will help create more efficient and effective business outcomes. Being an exceptional communicator with a curious mindset, you will not be afraid to question the status quo and have an ability to explain the project goals and map out the process to bring business solutions into reality.

As part of the role, the candidate will facilitate any required improvements to business solutions, processes and workflows ensuring alignment with the overall business compliance with contemporary best practices. This is a dynamic role which will provide the right incumbent an ability to grow and develop their skills further and with time move into a Solution Architecture role.

The role will suit an energetic, dynamic and flexible person, who is willing to ask the right questions, collaborate with stakeholders on a daily basis and be a great team player who will be challenged to think and solve business problems and identify effective solution on a daily basis.
