Logan-Beaudesert Child and Youth Mental Health Facilities

Metro South Child and Youth Mental Health Services are looking for a Staff Specialist or Senior Staff Specialist (Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist) to join their team. The primary purpose of the position is to provide high quality psychiatric services, demonstrate clinical leadership to Child and Youth Mental Health Services and to contribute to the overall development and quality of services. The position will be working across Logan-Beaudesert Child and Youth Mental Health,

including Logan-Browns Plains-Beenleigh-Beaudesert Community Child and Youth Mental Health Services and Logan Hospital Acute Care/Acute Adolescent Inpatient Services.

About the Role

This role will be required to:

- Assume clinical responsibility for the overall clinical care to mental health consumers under care of your team.

- Foster the promotion of standards of excellence in the provision of clinical and public health services.

- Develop and implement processes to optimise the efficiency and safety of entry, progress and discharge from the service, including comprehensive assessments, interventions and goal planning, clear relapse and re-entry plans, discharge summaries and outcome reporting.

- Meet with the Director of Service or Psychiatrist or Delegate on a regular basis, to discuss the work related matters and to ensure that clinical governance is prioritised and implemented appropriately in order to monitor and improve service delivery

- Support the strategic planning and development of MHS provided by the Service in collaboration with other members of the Metro South Hospital and Health Service Executive Team.

- Foster an environment of education, quality improvement, evidence based practice and reflective feedback and learning.
