This position provides expert graphic design services to internal business areas within the Commission. It works with the communications team to manage the Commission’s brand.

The key duties of the position include:

Reporting to the Assistant Director, your main responsibilities will be:

- Managing use of the Commission’s brand,

- Providing best practice design and brand advice to internal clients,

- Managing multiple design projects at one time and delivering to a high standard,

- Responding to graphic design briefs to support the Commission’s objectives and key work programs,

- Providing design support for corporate initiatives including template development, publications,

presentations, events,

- Managing end-to-end production of design briefs, including liaising with printers,

- Excellent design skills and attention to detail.


Selection Criteria

To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate the following:

- Tertiary qualifications in graphic design or commercial art and/or extensive experience in graphic design,

- Experience in digital programs and applications such as Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, and Microsoft PowerPoint,

- Technically minded and able to interpret complex information and turn into easy to read and view designs, presentations, diagrams, infographics etc,

- Demonstrated planning and organisational skills, including ability to meet deadlines with competing priorities and delivering work to a high standard Strong relationship building capability with external suppliers and other government agencies,

- Strong eye for detail and ability to provide frank advice on matters relating to best practice design and brand application.

Salary offered will be between $83,420 - $94,110 per annum depending on skills and experience. In addition, 15.4% superannuation will be paid.

Desirable Requirements

Previous APS or government experience within a design or communications team is highly desirable, along with a familiarity of Government processes.
