St Vincent’s is contracted by leading service providers MTC Broadspectrum to deliver health services to Parklea Correctional Centre – a major Sydney prison with capacity for 1,816 male inmates.

In 1838, when the Sisters of Charity who founded St Vincent’s arrived in Sydney from Ireland, they immediately went to the Parramatta Female Factory, where they made an important difference to the lives of hundreds of women convicts there. Similarly today, St Vincent’s Correctional Health aims to make a major difference by providing multidisciplinary healthcare to inmates at Parklea Correctional Complex.

About the role:
A vacancy exists in the above unit for a highly motivated Senior Quality Manager with appropriate knowledge and skills to join our friendly and supportive team. Our progressive and innovative team offers development opportunities for our staff and a caring environment for the delivery of high quality patient centered care. The successful applicant(s) will be expected to be able to coordinates and manage Quality & Safety Systems for St Vincent’s Correctional Health (SVCH) based at Parklea Correctional Centre. The Senior Quality Manager will also be involved in a range of patient safety and clinical quality functions at St Vincent’s Hospital. The role leads the preparation and readiness for the accreditation programs for SVCH including the National Safety and Quality Health Standards (NSQHS). This specifically involves leading the coordination of accreditation preparation, providing expertise regarding accreditation, including identification, planning, communication, monitoring, and evaluation of actions to comply with accreditation standards at SVCH.
The Manager will support SVCH and ensure quality systems support person centred care. In this role, they will work with the relevant managers to develop and implement improvements and ensure the alignment of quality activities and policies to the SVHNS and SVCH Quality & Safety Plans.
The vacancy is open to Australian citizens, New Zealand citizens who hold a valid New Zealand passport, Australian permanent residents and those non-residents deemed by the Department of Immigration and Citizenship to be eligible to work in Australia only.
Applicant will be required to obtain a Corrective Service Clearance NSW to be able to take up this role.

Relevant tertiary qualifications in relevant health related field or equivalent experience in a complex health care environment.
Highly developed understanding and extensive experience in the application and evaluation of Patient Safety programs, Clinical Risk identification, improvement methodologies, system thinking and accreditation systems management and remediation within the health care setting.
High level analytical skills and experience in clinical case review methodologies including project management and change management skills.
Highly developed verbal and written communication skills including strong relationship building capabilities and influencing skills with the ability to communicate, motivate, consult, and negotiate with diverse stakeholder groups including senior managers and clinicians and consumers
Capacity for analysing and synthesising data, and experience using data and clinical information to produce reports, briefs, submissions, and presentations to drive improvement in patient safety and clinical quality.
Capacity and a capability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaboratively in a team environment, with an understanding of, and ability to work with, committees and a range of diverse stakeholders.
Significant technical experience and capability in Microsoft Office including Excel and basic statistical software.
