Period of Appointment

Fixed term for a period of 12 months.

Hours per fortnight

73.50 hours per fortnight - flexible options available.


Co-ordinate complex risk assessments and investigations and prepare appropriate correspondence, reports, recommendations and reasons for decisions arising from assessments and investigations.

Ensure the proper registration of applicants in Tasmania by providing advice on the risks associated with identified applicants.

Provide interpretation advice on registration and licensing legislation, including the Risk Assessment order issued by the Minister under the Registration to Work with Vulnerable Persons Act 2013 and its application

Identify potential areas of non-compliance with legislation or areas of risk and participate in planning and leading amendments to legislation, determinations and policies. Participate as appropriate in public consultation processes, including providing information on how the process works.

Identify potential areas of non-compliance with legislation administered by the Office and participate in planning and leading compliance programs.

Prepare case files for prosecution reports, appeals or other relevant reviews as required.

Provide evidence in court actions and appear before Appeal bodies as required.

As required perform other tasks and duties within the division.

Essential Requirements

Before appointment to this role, the successful applicant must apply for and obtain a Tasmanian Registration to Work with Vulnerable People in a Child Related Activity.

Desirable Requirements

Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field of study.
