The Postdoctoral Research Fellow (Level B)
is expected to carry out independent and/or team research within the field in which they are appointed and to carry out activities to develop their research expertise relevant to their particular field of research. The Postdoctoral Research Fellow will assist with the conduct of a range of research, utilising a range of research methodologies, focused on smoking, smoking cessation, and use of alternative nicotine products (e.g. vaping).

Skills and Experience
A PhD completed (or submitted) in a public health, epidemiology or behavioural science discipline and/or relevant work experience.
Proven track record in project management and the conduct, implementation and management of research in tobacco use and/or cessation or similar public health or addiction related field.
Demonstrated track record in research with outcomes of high quality and high impact with clear evidence of the desire and ability to continually achieve research excellence as well as the capacity for research leadership.
Experience with statistical analyses and packages including STATA, SAS, R and/or SPSS.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with particular emphasis on oral communication with research participants, with high level academic writing skills.
Excellent interpersonal, time management and organisational skills with a proven ability to deal with multiple tasks; establish priorities and meet deadlines.
High level communication skills and ability to network effectively and interact with a diverse range of students and staff.
An understanding of and commitment to UNSW’s aims, objectives and values in action, together with relevant policies and guidelines.
Knowledge of health and safety responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant health and safety training
