About North East Link
The North East Link Project (NELP) will connect the missing link in Melbourne's freeway network,
while increasing the capacity of the Eastern Freeway. It will slash travel times, get trucks off local roads and link key growth areas in the north and south-east.
About the Opportunity
Be part of a transformative infrastructure project for Victoria, with an exciting role in the North East Link Project's Land, Planning and Environment team! As our Senior Urban Planner, you will drive planning and heritage outcomes across both NELP's primary package (PPP), secondary delivery packages and Sports & Recreation Program. If you want variety in your workload and exposure to a diverse range of stakeholders in a dynamic environment that offers autonomy and the opportunity to work on a project that will leave a lasting legacy, this may be the perfect role for you!
Day to day, you could go from leading engagement with stakeholders to driving the end to end planning and delivery for a range of planning scheme amendments and cultural heritage management plans according to required timeframes, scope and budget. You will also pre-empt any risks applicable to planning and heritage approvals, ensuring to advise stakeholders on such matters and mitigate any risks as necessary.

Travel and time spent at a future site office (Bulleen, Heidelberg or Watsonia) will be requirement of this position.
You don't need to be a veteran of the transport industry to thrive in this role. We are seeking a motivated planner who could be from local council, state government or the consulting industry who is ready to take the jump to work on the client side for a major project!

Well versed in the successful preparation & assessment of - and compliance with - approvals including planning scheme amendments, planning permits, heritage permits or cultural heritage management plans
