incidental allowance and annual leave loading<strong><li> <ul><p> <p><p><strong>About us:<br><br><strong>The Department of Communities and Justice delivers legal, court and supervision services to the people of NSW by managing courts and justice services, implementing programs to reduce crime and re offending, managing custodial and community-based correctional services, protecting rights and community standards and advising on law reform and legal matters.<p><p>Corrective Services NSW employs trade Overseers, Senior Overseers and Managers in Corrective Services Industries (CSI) providing inmates in correctional centres with vocational training in service and commercial industries to improve their employment opportunities when they are released from custody. Employment is a proven factor in reducing the risk of re-offending.<p><p> <p><p><strong>About the role:<br><br><strong>We are looking for a qualified Senior Trade Overseer that is proactive and self-managed to join the team at Macquarie Correctional Centre. You must be willing and able to work in a flexible manner within a team environment. In this role it is critical to have the drive and motivation to multi-skill and develop across varying trades.<p><p>In this role you will be responsible for providing leadership and mentoring to Overseers and, develop inmate employability skills. It is important to build strong relationships with stakeholders as you will plan, schedule and oversee the activities of the team to ensure productivity, efficiency and other commercial objectives are achieved.<p><p> <p><p><strong>About you:<br><br><strong>The ideal candidate will meet the Essential Requirements and be able to demonstrate the ability to meet the Focus Capabilities and Key Accountabilities of the role, such as:<br> <p><ul> <li>Lead and direct the activities of work teams and appraise the performance of supervised staff and provide counsel and feedback to ensure organisational and personal development objectives are achieved<li> <li>Positively contribute to the business unit operations through the delivery of work-related inmate training, including the implementation of Inmate Traineeships<li> <li>Supervise, coach, train, instruct and work with inmates to develop their work skills in order to enhance their post-release employment opportunities, thereby reducing their risk of re-offending<li> <li>Provide detailed input to case management reporting through the Work Readiness Program.<li> <li>Manage resources efficiently and effectively to achieve planned outcomes<li> <li>Create and maintain a safe working environment for staff, contractors, inmates and visitors to comply with Work Health & Safety legislation<li> <ul><p> <p><p>For additional information on the role and responsibilities please <a href="s:ufile.iop6j08izl">Click here<a><a href="s:ufile.iop6j08izl"> <a>to download the role description.<p><p> <p><p><strong>Essential Requirements:<strong><p><p><strong>To be successful in this role you must have: <strong><p><ul> <li>A Current Certificate III in Correctional Practice or capacity to complete Certificate III in Correctional Practice in accordance with specified CSNSW timeframes (10 Weeks Paid Training)<li> <li>Extensive trade experience and relevant trade qualifications (Minimum Certificate III) in the following: Furniture related trade, Cabinet Making, Carpentry or other related building and construction trades may be considered<li> <li>Current driver licence and preparedness to drive a vehicle in the course of performing the role<li> <ul><p> <p><p><strong>When applying for the role you will need to answer the two pre-screening questions below (Max 400 words each);<strong><p><p> <p><p><strong>Target Question 1 <strong><p><p> Briefly describe how you identify critical milestones in production ensure you meet project deadlines.<p><p> <p><p><strong>Target Question 2 <strong><p><p>What processes do you follow to ensure you identify risk and hazards that may be present during production, include how you would report on these?<p><p> <p><p><strong>Additionally, please attach the following; <strong><p><ul> <li>Resume (maximum 5 pages)<li> <li>Cover letter (maximum 2 pages) outlining how you meet the requirements and capabilities of this role as specified in the role description (please refer to the Role Description so that you can address the highlighted capabilities)<li> <li>Ensure your profile is updated with current referees.
