While we work flexibly, there will be an expectation that you will live within a reasonable distance to frequent the office regularly.<p><p>We are currently seeking an Engineer to join the Rivers and Stormwater Team within Public Works Advisory (PWA),
a division of the Department of Regional NSW (DRNSW).<p><p>In this role you will be providing engineering design solutions and advice in the field of civil engineering focused on river infrastructure works and river system analysis. Our projects include feasibility investigations, hydraulic assessments, development of functional design requirements and criterion, preparation of concept and detailed designs and documentation for river structures and works including weirs, regulators, fishways, flood protection levees and bank stabilisation projects.<p><p><strong>About you<strong><p><p>You will be contributing to significant infrastructure projects that make a real difference to regional communities in NSW.<p><p>To be successful in this role you will demonstrate the following:<p><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline (civil engineering, environmental engineering andor water engineering) with eligibility for Professional Engineer member status of Engineers Australia;<li><li>3 to 5 years’ experience in civil engineering design, hydrology assessments, hydraulic analysis - preferably related to river engineering, river environments andor related structures;<li><li>a basic understanding of structural engineering principals and behaviour;<li><li>experience in key industry software engineering applications such as HEC-RAS, MIKE1121, ESRI ArcMAP, XPRAFTS, GeoStudio (SlopeW, SeepW), CADD (e.g. MicroStation, AutoCAD), 12d Model, etc;<li><li>strong client focus with an ability to understand client needs and complex issues, and be able to assist with development of methodologies to deliver appropriate solutions;<li><li>willingness to work flexibly as part of a team, have a commitment to continuous learning and to personally develop in an area of expertise related to the role;<li><li>a valid NSW driver’s licence and a willingness to drive to remote locations which may include overnight stays.<li><ul><p>Additionally, you will be instrumental in supporting client needs to ensure the delivery of projects having regard to time, cost, quality, safety and environmental targets.<p><p><strong>About Us<strong><p><p><a href="s:aus01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com?url=s%3A%2F%2Fw.publicworksadvisory.%2F&data=04%7C01%7Cjane.piva%40finance.%7Ce15fa509fb74478d65b308d8df4eea3d%7C1ef97a68e8ab44eda16db579fe2d7cd8%7C0%7C0%7C637504877310586931%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C1000&sdata=ysYOapLzfibSvjtt3rhx2wCK7asEyUhe%2F35Xxq7gSWY%3D&reserved=0" target="_blank">Public Works Advisory (PWA)<a> is part of the <a href="s:aus01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com?url=s%3A%2F%2Fw.%2Fregional-nsw&data=04%7C01%7Cjane.piva%40finance.%7Ce15fa509fb74478d65b308d8df4eea3d%7C1ef97a68e8ab44eda16db579fe2d7cd8%7C0%7C0%7C637504877310596929%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C1000&sdata=aEC629nnEuw0CGrFIgJII%2B47mluqienJj3A8WgG74sI%3D&reserved=0" target="_blank">Department of Regional NSW (DRNSW),<a> and supports local and state government agencies to deliver critical infrastructure initiatives by providing expert advisory, planning, design, delivery and support services.
