About Your Role

Our Benalla site is Australia’s only major manufacturer of ammunitions and munitions components to the Australian Defence Force. With nearly 300 local staff on site, a subsidised canteen and ample free parking, this is a friendly rural manufacturing site offering a great work environment.

The Production Engineer is responsible for supporting all aspects of production including; ensuring the safe and efficient manufacture of quality products, root cause analysis, continuous improvement of production capabilities, processes and practices, and communication. This role is also involved in Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) of product via the use of X-Ray.

- Providing production support to operations teams to deliver improvements and solutions to budget and schedule

- Assessment and sentencing of product conformance including X-Ray (NDT Level 2 or 3).

- Lead or assist with the resolution of product quality and plant equipment issues

- Facilitate and / or participate in munitions continuous improvement projects

- Develop and apply a sound knowledge of Ammunition and other Explosive Ordnance products and manufacturing techniques.

How About You?

- Degree qualified mechanical engineer, materials engineer, metallurgist, radiographer or demonstrated equivalent experience

- Knowledge and understanding of product/process design, industrialisation and manufacture

- Demonstrate a sound technical understanding of engineering solutions

- Knowledge of radiography (film or digital X-Ray)

- Qualifications in Level 3 NDT X-Ray (advantageous)
