Position Summary
We have an opportunity for a Strategic Development Officer to join the Social Enterprise & Local Jobs Business Unit on a temporary job share basis until December 2021.
The Social Enterprise & Local Jobs Business Unit brings innovative approaches to local employment opportunities in Banyule through the development of social enterprises and labour market programs.
As the Strategic Development Officer you will:
- Plan, develop and lead policy development and strategic direction across Social Enterprise and Local Jobs portfolio areas; creating local job and participation pathways for local people experiencing disadvantage
- Support the development and coordination of labour market programs
- Support the development and implementation of Banyule’s Sustainable Procurement Framework with a job creation and social enterprise development lens
Key Selection Criteria:
- Tertiary qualifications in relevant discipline e.g. community development
- Experience in managing, monitoring and evaluating job creation initiatives; including social procurement activity
- Specialist and contemporary knowledge of labour market issues, job creation, social procurement, inclusive employment and associated policy and programs at the Local, State and Commonwealth level
- Strong project management skills to deliver quality outcomes within budget and on time
- Experience in building relationships to influence and negotiate desired outcomes
- Experience in policy and strategy development relating to community development
- Demonstrated experience in recruitment, training and staff development
