The Department of Regional NSW (DNRSW) is responsible for building resilient regional economies and communities, strengthening primary industries, managing the use of regional land, overseeing the state’s mineral and mining resources and ensuring government investment in regional NSW is fair and delivers positive outcomes for local communities and businesses.

This is a rare opportunity to create an on the ground impact by leading the delivery of the Department’s performance and reporting framework, and strategic data,

insights and evaluation capability to guide better social and economic outcomes for industry, businesses and communities across regional NSW.

About the role (Role Description)

The Executive Director, Delivery and Performance is an integral member of the Strategy, Delivery and Performance Senior Leadership Group. The role has oversight of the Department’s priority performance outcomes and indicators.

You will work collaboratively across the Department to monitor key performance indicators and assist business units to meet performance expectations. This role will also lead evaluation of programs and provide critical, value-adding and actionable recommendations to improve future service and program delivery in regional NSW.

The role will lead and oversee the DRNSW Outcome and Business Plan, and create a shared vision that informs the Department’s decision making and resourcing, and share results and outcomes. This includes engagement across the cluster and NSW Treasury on the Outcome and Business Plan and tracking NSW Government priorities.

This role has both a strategic leadership and operational focus within numerous executive level and operational functions, relating to areas including the Finance and Performance Committee.

You will be a strategic leader with demonstrated experience in developing strategies that better integrate the delivery of services and reform across the organisation characterised by a strong client focus, innovation and continuous improvement.

You will have demonstrated experience working at an executive level within government or the public service, including leading successful complex projects. You will be influential at all levels with highly effective communication skills.
