The Role

Some of the key duties of this role are:

- Provide advice and support to stakeholders in relation to knowledge, information and records management including life cycle of records and relevant legislation and administrative guidance.

- Assist with developing and implementation of business rules and processes that assist the work area with knowledge and information management to enable the work area to maintain information in accordance with policies and procedures.

- Provide assistance and guidance in knowledge, information and records management policies and procedures to achieve continuous improvement.

- Interpret and apply legislation, regulatory requirements and policy and procedures.

- Manage information and records management activities in accordance with relevant legislation and Defence policies and procedures.

- Investigate and recommend solution for complex knowledge and information management issues.

- Work with stakeholders to understand their requirements and concerns to allow them to meet business requirements and objectives whilst adhering to policies and procedures.

This position is non-ongoing with the possibility of becoming ongoing.

About our Team

Working within Navy Aviation, Aircrew Training and Commons (NATC) Branch, you will be a key member within the Branch Team. This team delivers consistently high standards of outputs for our customers and each role within this team contributes to supporting the delivery of capability. The Branch Team is responsible for coordination of NATC’s business planning cycle; task management and oversight; coordination of the Business Management System, coordination of quality activities, performance measurement and risk management. Individuals in this team, work collaboratively to provide governance and assurance within a framework of legislation, Defence policies and practices.

Our Ideal Candidate

To be successful in this role you will be a highly motivated professional who can work independently with the opportunity for reasonable autonomy and accountability for the achievement of outcomes of their work. They will exercise both initiative and judgement in the interpretation of policy and in the application of practices and procedures. They will provide detailed knowledge management technical, professional and policy advice in relation to complex work and contribute to strategic planning, program and project management and policy development. As the NATC Branch Knowledge Management Officer you will have excellent written and oral communication skill. You will be comfortable networking with a wide variety of customers and stakeholders and will build and sustain key working relationships.

You will need an advanced level of computer literacy including MS Word, Excel, SharePoint and particularly, advanced records management skills (an experienced Objective Workgroup Coordinator is highly desirable). You will undertake your role in accordance with legislation and Defence policies. You will have a demonstrated commitment to personal development and will support the NATC Branch.
