This role will also enable you to become a key player in the organisation, driving projects and contributing to the long-term success of the operations.
Reporting to the Mine Manager, your duties will include: Lead the development of detailed mine plans and designs to ensure alignment with the mine schedule and operational objectives. Oversee feasibility and due-diligence assessments on prospective mining areas, providing insights to inform strategic decisions. Drive the preparation of the Weekly Production Plan and 3-month rolling schedules , ensuring all plans are optimised for economic performance. Continuously review, challenge, and refine long-term mine plans and schedules to maximise operational efficiency. Prepare and validate safe and economic stope designs , ensuring compliance with mine plans and schedules. Monitor development and stoping activities , ensuring they align with planned designs, geological considerations, and ground control standards. Manage the planning and implementation of mine services infrastructure, including pumping stations and substations, to support operational needs. Communicate effectively with Production Engineers to ensure the successful execution of safe and efficient stope designs.
Regularly report to the UG Manager and internal stakeholders on project progress, including detailed EOM reporting. Collaborate with all stakeholders to develop and deliver optimal mine plans that align with business objectives. Is this for you? Key qualifications and skills include:
A strong background in underground mining operations with a proven track record. Expertise in using relevant mining software, including Deswik Suite and VentSim. In-depth understanding of the WA Mines Safety and Inspection Act and Regulations.
Exceptional analytical skills with a focus on optimising economic performance. Strong understanding of geotechnical considerations and operational infrastructure requirements in an underground setting. Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with key stakeholders.
